Dooley, Gluckstein finish in top six at City of Valladolid World Cup

VALLADOLID, Spain, Sept. 14, 2013 – 2012 Olympic alternate Logan Dooley of Lake Forest, Calif./World Elite Gymnastics, and 2012 Olympian Steven Gluckstein of Atlantic Highlands, N.J./ETA, finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in the men's trampoline finals at the City of Valladolid (Spain) Trampoline World Cup earlier today. Junior national team member Meghan O'Connell of Middletown, N.J./ETA, also competed in Spain, winning the girls' 15-16 individual trampoline silver medal.

In men's trampoline, Dooley earned a 57.295 for fifth, with Gluckstein right behind him at 56.780. China's Gao Lei won the title with his 61.565. Second and third went to Nikita Fedorenko of Russia with 60.570 and Tu Xiao of China at 60.335, respectively.

The duo of Gluckstein and his brother Jeffrey, also of Atlantic Highlands, N.J./ETA, finished in sixth place in men's synchronized trampoline. Top honors went to Russia's Ushakov and Fedorenko, who posted 50.400 points. Belarus' Mikalai Kazak and Uladzislau Hancharou took the runner-up spot with their 48.300. Rounding out the medals were Switzerland's Nicolas Schori and Simon Progin, who scored 37.200 for the bronze.

O'Connell posted a 50.150 in the junior women's 15-16 trampoline division, finishing behind Russia's Maria Zakharchuk with 50.650 and ahead of Mexico's Karina Cantu at 49.360.
