Gymnast of the Week awards are given by conference offices and the College Gymnastics Association.

Big Ten Conference
Gymnast of the Week
Jesse Tyndall - Ohio State
  • Won four events and finished second in a fifth to help Ohio State defeat Nebraska Sunday and claim a share of the program's first Big Ten regular season title
  • Posted victories in the all-around (82.300), as well as on the high bar (13.900 – clinched meet win), floor exercise (14.250) and parallel bars (14.450), while taking second on the rings (14.000)
  • Twice chosen for Academic All-Big Ten accolades (2020, 2021), and also was selected as a 2021 Big Ten Distinguished Scholar
  • Collects his third career Big Ten Gymnast of the Week award, all this season
Freshman of the Week
Travis Wong - Nebraska
  • Finished fifth on the pommel horse (13.450) in Sunday's dual meet at Ohio State
  • Has posted scores of 13.450 on the horse in his last three meets
  • Earns his third career Big Ten Freshman of the Week award

Isaiah Drake – Navy
Drake was a standout for the Mids this week as part of a multi-team meet at Air Force on Saturday. Competing against gymnasts from Illinois, Air Force and the Rocky Mountain Club, Drake finished atop the individual standings on the vault and high bar. His vault score of 15.0 is tied for the fourth-highest in the NCAA this season and helped him clear his closest opponent by 0.4 points. He won the HB by 0.1 points, 13.65-13.55. Additionally, Drake placed top-10 on the rings (6th, 13.4 score) and the floor (8th, 14.1).

Specialist of the Week
Josh Williams – Navy
Williams turned in a trio of routines that scored 14.2 or better on Saturday at Air Force's multi-team meet. Amongst gymnasts from Illinois, Air Force and the Rocky Mountain club, Williams dominated the field on the rings with a 0.7-point margin of victory courtesy of his 14.4 score. That result ties his career-high and is the fourth-highest in the NCAA this year. Williams' floor exercise score of 14.3 was sixth-best in the field.

Rookie of the Week
Andrae Butler – Springfield
Butler had a standout meet as Springfield bested Army for the first time since 2010.He placed second on the vault (14.20) and was second on the floor with a score of 13.35.

Gymnast of the Week
Fuzzy Benas - Oklahoma
Oklahoma freshman Fuzzy Benas (Richmond, TX) won three events en route to the nation's highest 2022 all-around (84.500) as the No. 2 Sooners won a home meet over No. 9 California (Mar. 19). Benas posted individual titles with career-highs on floor (14.200) and vault (15.000; highest meet score), as well as a victory on parallel bars (14.250). He helped the vault squad to a season-high total (72.550). Benas added a 13.900 on still rings, 13.600 on high bar, and 13.550 on pommel horse. This is the conference-high third MPSF weekly award for Benas.
