Athlete of the Week
Catherine Reynolds - King
Catherine Reynolds, a junior top, base and tumbler from Fairfax, Va., helped King University remain unbeaten last week with a win over Belmont Abbey. She competed in 10 total heats and team event for King, turning in three scores of 9.50 or higher and seven scores of 9.0 or higher. Reynolds scored a 9.90 in the open tumbling pass and was a part of a 9.80 score in the compulsory toss. She helped King set season-highs in four different heats against Belmont Abbey (Compulsory Toss, Acro Five-Element, 450 Salto Toss, Open Tumbling Pass). Her score of 9.90 in the open tumbling pass broke her own school record that she previously set earlier this season.

Specialist of the Week
Lindsay Fries - West Liberty
Lindsay Fries, a sophomore base from Parkersburg, W.Va., helped West Liberty to a trio of high scores in the pyramid event as West Liberty defeated West Virginia Wesleyan. She helped the Hilltoppers to a 9.70 in the inversion pyramid, a 9.65 in the open pyramid, and a 9.50 in the synchronized pyramid. In the inversion pyramid she serves as a mid-base, in the synchronized pyramid she is a thigh stand base, and in the open pyramid she is the backbend base.

Freshman of the Week
Katie Emborsky - West Liberty
Katie Emborsky, a freshman base from Jonestown, Pa., competed in six total heats and team event for West Liberty last week. During the meet, she helped the ‘Toppers turn in three scores of 9.50 or higher, including a 9.70 in the inversion pyramid, a 9.50 in the compulsory toss, and a 9.50 in the synchronized pyramid. In addition, Emborsky bases two acros, two tosses, one pyramid and does a full during the team event for West Liberty.

Lexus Ficca - West Liberty
Ficca, a senior base and tumbler from Weirton, W.Va., competed in eight heats and team event to help West Liberty to a MEC victory over West Virginia Wesleyan last week. She helped the Hilltoppers to four scores of 9.50 or higher, including a meet-high 9.70 in the inversion pyramid. She also helped the ‘Toppers to a 9.65 in the open pyramid and a pair of 9.50 scores in the acro five-element and synchronized pyramid. She also tuned in a score of 9.075 in her individual tumbling pass, the open tumbling pass.

Athlete of the Week
Catherine Reynolds - King
Reynolds helped lead King to its third straight win with the Tornado picking up a 265.590-255.935 win over Belmont Abbey last Thursday. In the meet, Reynolds competed in 10 heats including the team event. She broke her own program-high in the tumbling open pass, scoring 9.900, which topped her previous mark of 9.875. Reynolds also helped King set season-high scores in compulsory toss, acro heat 1 and toss heat one. The junior from Fairfax, Virginia also contributed to a tumbling even score of 53.750, which was the second-highest score in program history.
