National

NCAA Gymnast of the Week
Vitaliy Guimaraes - Oklahoma
Guimaraes claims his first weekly honors of the 2021 season, winning CGA and MPSF Gymnast of the Week following his all-around performance on Saturday against the Black Knights. Guimaraes competed all-around for the first time this season in the Sooners virtual victory over Army. Guimaraes put up a 82.850 showing with event titles on still rings (13.800) and high bar (13.750). The junior also recorded a season-high 14.450 on floor exercise and career best 13.900 on pommel horse. His all-around tally ranks as third in the country.

NCAA Rookie of the Week
Matt Cormier - Penn State
Cormier opened his first collegiate meet with an event title, winning on floor with a score of 14.35. That would have ranked as Penn State's second-best score in the event during the shortened 2020 season. The freshman added another victory three events later, taking first on vault with a score of 14.6. That also would have ranked as the Lions' second-best score last season. Cormier wasn't finished there. He was one of numerous Penn State gymnasts that came through in the clutch in the final two rotations as he posted a runner-up finish on high bar with a score of 13.1. That helped the Lions erase a 1.75-point deficit in the final rotation.

NCAA Specialist of the Week
Gage Dyer - Oklahoma
Dyer claims his second consecutive CGA Specialist of the Week honor for his floor and vault performance over the weekend versus Army. Dyer registered an NCAA season-high score across any apparatus with his 14.950 on floor that won him the event crown. The senior also competed vault for the Sooners, registering a meet-winning 14.750 on his difficult triple-twisting full vault.
