Big Ten Conference

Gymnast of the Week
Shane Wiskus - Minnesota
  • Earned the all-around and vault silver medal at the prestigious Winter Cup last weekend
  • Posted an all-around score of 84.550, placing second to two-time Olympian Sam Mikulak, and first against NCAA competitors
  • Tied for second in the vault with a two-day score of 28.750
  • Also placed seventh in the high bar (26.600) and eighth on floor (27.950)
  • Retained his spot on the U.S. Senior National Team with his Winter Cup performance
  • Collects his seventh career Big Ten Gymnast of the Week honor and third this season



Eastern College Athletic Conference

Gymnast of the Week
Stephen Lewis – Springfield
Lewis won the all-around competition at the William and Mary over the weekend with a score of 80.55. Lewis had the top score on the vault with a score of 14.25 and the rings with the score of 13.9, Lewis placed second on the parallel bars with a score of 13.6. Lewis placed third on the floor with a score of 13.35, forth on the pommel horse with a score of 13.05 and tied for fourth on the high bar with a score of 13.9.

Specialist of the Week
Tomas Palma – William & Mary
Palma won the Floor Exercise with a 14.00 and was 5th on Parallel Bars. Tomas is also making a comeback from a couple of severe injuries.

Rookie of the Week
Dominic Ramalho –Springfield
Ramalho had a standout meet in the battle with William and Mary over the weekend. Ramalho finished third in both the rings and valut with a score of 13.55 and 14.05. Ramalho had an all-around score of 77.6. Ramalho scored a 12.2 in the horizontal bar. Ramalho scored a 11.95 in the pommel horse. Ramalho scored 12.75 on the floor. Ramalho scored a 13.1 in the parallel bars.

Gymnast of the Week
Brody Malone - Stanford
Stanford sophomore Brody Malone (Summerville, GA) finished third in the all-around (83.950) during Thursday's preliminary round (Feb. 20) in the Las Vegas Winter Cup to earn a spot on the United States Senior National Team. Malone turned in the second-best vault of day one (14.400) and second-best parallel bars routine in the prelims (14.600). He added four other scores of at least 13.500 on the high bar (13.500), floor (13.700), still rings (13.800), and pommel horse (13.950). This is the fifth career MPSF weekly award for Malone, second this year.
