Genki Suzuki - Oklahoma

NCAA Rookie of the Week
Darren Wong - California
Wong, a Vancouver native, recorded career bests on five of the six apparatuses to finish with a score of 81.000 in his first collegiate road competition. His efforts included a team-high 14.300 on the floor exercise.

Kiwan Watts - Arizona State



Big Ten Conference

Gymnast of the Week
Cameron Bock - Michigan
Earned the all-around title at the Windy City Invitational last weekend with an 80.650 score
Posted three other top-five finishes: second in the parallel bars (14.05), third in the high bar (13.75) and fourth on the pommel horse (13.30)
Helped No. 5 Michigan take second at the Windy City Invitational
Collects his second career Big Ten Gymnast of the Week award and first of the season

Freshman of the Week
Clay Stephens - Illinois
Claimed first-place finishes on the floor exercise (14.550) and vault (14.500) last weekend at the Windy City Invitational
Registered a third-place finish in the all-around (79.650) to help No. 4 Illinois win its fifth-straight Windy City Invite
Earns his first Big Ten Freshman of the Week award

Gymnast of the Week
Stephen Lewis – Springfield
After winning Gymnast of the Week six times in 2018, Lewis earns his first honor in 2019. He won the all-around and placed in the top six in five of six events at the Navy Open. His all-around score was a 77.8 aided by an impressive 14.3 on vault which placed him as runner-up at the event. He posted three more score above a 13 with a floor score of 13.4, parallel bars score of 13.05 and a rings score of 13.65

Specialist of the Week
Kaleb Booth – Illinois-Chicago
Booth turned in a score of 13.75 on vault for the Flames, the best score for the team. Competing against Big Ten competition the 13.75 placed him in seventieth at the Windy City Invitational. The 13.75 is the second consecutive meet that the freshman has reached that mark. Booth also competed in the floor exercise scoring a 12.25.

Rookie of the Week
Mathew Davis – Army
Davis earns his second consecutive rookie of the week honors. He increased his all-around score this past weekend to an impressive 80.15. He achieved this mark while also besting Penn State University’s, Brennan Pantazis, who ranked twenty first nationally heading into the meet and his own teammate Cole Casanova who ranked fifth. Helping him to reach this mark were career-highs on pommel with a 12.85 and parallel bars with a 12.9. His highest event score at the meet was his floor routine that scored a 14.1.

Gymnast of the Week
Genki Suzuki - Oklahoma
Suzuki (North Wales, PA) claimed the all-around title in the Sooners’ home opener (Jan. 19), registering a career-best 83.600. The score ranks as the top all-around total in the country for the 2019 season. Suzuki also won the pommel horse (13.700) and parallel bars (13.950), and finished in the top-five on high bar (13.750), vault (14.450), still rings (13.850), and floor (13.900). This is the second career MPSF weekly award for Suzuki (Feb.13, 2018).
