Gymnast of the Week
Yul Moldauer - Oklahoma
Oklahoma junior Yul Moldauer (Arvada, CO) put on an impressive performance in the Sooners’ season opener at No. 9 Michigan (Jan. 27). Out of the four events he competed, he won three. On parallel bars, he scored an NCAA season-high 15.050, 0.450 higher than any gymnast. The Sooners accumulated a 2018 national-high 70.650. Moldauer’s first-place still rings routine in which he posted 14.950, was the second-highest national score this season. He added a win on pommel horse (13.900) and a fourth-place finish on high bar (13.250). This is Moldauer’s third career MPSF weekly award.

Gymnast of the Week
Sam Zakutney - Penn State
* Took first place in the all-around competition at Illinois with a score of 80.700, earning his second all-around score of 80, or higher, as well as his second all-around title of the season
* Also took home the parallel bars title with a score of 14.450 and placed second on the high bar with a 14.450
* Collects his second Big Ten Gymnast of the Week award and the second of the season

Freshman of the Week
Shane Wiskus - Minnesota
* Earned first place in the all-around competition at Iowa with a career-high and the No. 2 score in the nation (82.550)
* Took five podium finishes including a first place on parallel bars (13.950) and second-place finishes on both the high bar (13.850) and still rings (13.800)
* Earns his second Big Ten Freshman of the Week award

Gymnast of the Week
Chris Graff – Springfield
Senior Chris Graff put on a performance at Springfield’s first home meet of the season. His all-around performance helped to lead the Pride to a season high team score of 387.2 as they competed against Air Force. Graff finished first in the all-around with a score of 77.8. He took third on both the floor exercise (13.6) and rings (12.95). He also had a fifth-place finish on the pommel horse with a score of 13.25. To round out his all-around performance he received a 13.1 on vault, 12.75 on the parallel bars and a 12.15 on the horizontal bar.

Specialist of the Week
Andy Jones – Navy
Jones started Navy’s tri-meet with a victory competing at the floor exercise and getting a score of 14.15. The score helped the Midshipmen floor exercise lineup to earn the second-most points on the weekend with a total of 68.25. He continued a great weekend as he tied for second on vault with a score of 14.25 just .1 off the lead.

Rookie of the Week
Ryan McVay – Navy
Freshman Ryan McVay had an outstanding meet finishing first in the all-around competing against William & Mary and Temple. This was McVay’s first time competing in the all-around. He placed in the top-10 in five of the six events including a second place on rings (13.45), second place on the horizontal bar (13.45), fifth on pommel horse 12.35, eighth in the floor exercise (13.25) and tenth on vault (13.5) He also posted a score of 11.8 on the parallel bars.
