Gymnast of the Week
Ryan Sheppard - Stanford
Stanford senior Ryan Sheppard (Murphy, TX) returned to competition for the first time since the 2016 NCAA Championships to claim the still rings (13.650) and all-around (82.050) titles as the Cardinal rolled to a second-straight tri-meet win, topping the host No. 18 UIC and No. 8 Iowa. Sheppard also placed third on pommel horse (13.400), parallel bars (13.800), and high bar (13.450), and tied for fourth on vault (14.100).

Rookie of the Week
Griffin Kehler - Nebraska
The only Husker freshman to compete on three or more events, Kehler led NU to a 411.750 – 404.150 win over the No. 3 Buckeyes with season-high scores on floor and parallel bars. The Frisco, Texas, native placed second overall on floor (14.25) and parallel bars (13.75), and fourth overall on high bar (13.10). Kehler’s impressive scores allowed Nebraska to claim the No. 1 spot for the second week in a row.

Sean Melton - Ohio State
* Took first place on still rings and posted the No. 1 score in the nation (15.150) by .500 points in No. 4 Ohio State’s Big Ten dual against No. 1 Nebraska
* Also finished first on high bars (14.100) with the No. 3 score in the nation and sixth on pommel horse (13.650)
* Collects his ninth Big Ten Gymnast of the Week award and first of the season
* Last Ohio State Gymnast of the Week: Sean Melton (Feb. 20, 2017)

Bobby Baker - Illinois
* Recorded the highest vault score in the nation (14.900) at No. 3 Illinois’ dual against No. 11 Arizona State
* Took first place in the vault, still rings (14.450) and floor exercise (13.700) as well as placed second on the high bar (14.000)
* Earns his fourth Big Ten Gymnast of the Week award and first of the season

Freshman of the Week
Alex Frack - Penn State
* Collected three podium finishes in his first collegiate home meet, including first place on the high bar (13.700) in No. 2 Penn State’s dual versus No. 12 Army West Point
* Registered third-place finishes on the pommel horse (13.550) and parallel bars (13.650)
* Earns his first Big Ten Freshman of the Week award

Gymnast of the Week
Satchel Hudson – Illinois-Chicago
Satchel Hudson had an outstanding meet that saw him increase his all-around score by 4.2 points in just a single week. Hudson was a fixture for improvement as the Flames took on #5 Stanford and #8 Iowa. He set a career high on the vault with a 13.5. He continued his improvement on the pommel horse with a 10.65 good enough to improve his score by .65 from the previous week. In the floor exercise he hit a a score of 12.75 which was an improvement of 0.6 from the Windy City meet the week before. He also nailed his rings routine posting a score of 12.15 as he was one of three Flames to score over 12.

Specialist of the Week
Asad Jooma – Illinois-Chicago
Jooma specialized in the vault this past weekend in a meet that featured number five Stanford and Number eight Iowa. He posted a team high score on the vault with a score of 14.0 which improved his mark from the Flames’ first meet by 0.2.

Rookie of the Week
Jack Vollo – Springfield
Vollo had an outstanding showing in his love event, the pommel horse, at the Navy open over the weekend. He posted a score of 12.6 to help Springfield finish second at the Navy Open and was also good enough for him to finish fifth in the event.
