Gymnast of the Week
Robert Neff - Stanford
Stanford senior Robert Neff (Brookfield, WI) opened up the 2018 season with a dominant showcase at the Cal Benefit Cup where he claimed event titles in the all-around (82.850), pommel horse (13.900) and high bar (14.200) in addition to a second-place finish on floor (13.900) and third-place finish on rings (13.550). Stanford won the tri-meet over the host No. 10 California and No. 20 SC United. This is Neff’s first career MPSF weekly award.

Gymnast of the Week
Sam Zakutney - Penn State
* Posted the second highest all-around score (81.350) in the nation to take first in the event at the Army West Point Open
* Took first place in the vault (14.450) and parallel bars (14.400) and placed third on the high bar (13.600)
* Registered scores of 13.900, 12.000, and 13.000 in the floor exercise, pommel horse, and rings, respectively, to complete his winning all-around score
* Collects his first Big Ten Gymnast of the Week award

Co-Freshmen of the Week
Brennan Pantazis - Penn State
* Collected three top-ten finishes to give Penn State its fifth straight West Point Open team title
* Registered second-place results on the floor (14.050) and all-around (78.800), as well as a sixth place finish on the high bars
* Ranks seventh in the country and forth in the conference in the all-around, posting a total score of 78.800
* Earns his first Big Ten Freshman of the Week award

Shane Wiskus - Minnesota
* Earned six top-ten finishes, including a first place finish in the all-around (81.250) at the Windy City Invitational
* Took the event tile on the floor (14.150), finished third on parallel bars (14.00) and was just shy of a top-three finish on rings (13.800)
* Ranks third in the country in the all-around (81.250) and fifth in the nation in the floor exercise (14.150)
* Earns his first Big Ten Freshman of the Week award

Gymnast of the Week
Stephen Lewis - Springfield
Reigning rookie of the year, Stephen Lewis starts off his 2018 season claiming the first gymnast of the week award. Lewis competed in all events this past week at the West Point Open. Day one of the meet Lewis took third on vault with a score of 14.4 and for finals improved to second place by getting a score of 14.050 performing a Tsuk 2/1. At the West Point Open Lewis also claimed fourth in the All-Around.

Specialist of the Week
Jeremiah McReynolds - William & Mary
McReynolds competed in just one event at the West Point open this past week. The Rings specialist won the title with a score of 13.5. This performance was one of the highlights of a successful West Point Open for the Tribe.

Rookie of the Week
David Toussaint - Navy
Toussaint had an impressive weekend at the West Point Open as he competed in both the team and finals events for the pommel horse and floor exercise. Toussaint posted a 13.35 (team) and 13.45 (finals) on the pommel horse which was good enough for him to claim second. His floor exercise scores of 13.4 (team) and 13.55 (finals) were good for tenth on day one with a drastic improvement to fifth for the finals.
