Trampoline & Tumbling Judging Accreditation
Course Description

School of Judging Trampoline & Tumbling offers testing opportunities for individuals seeking to be certified in specific disciplines and categories of Trampoline & Tumbling Judging: Double Mini (Category 1-3), Trampoline (Category 1-3) and Tumbling (Category 1-3). Coaches are also encouraged to participate in order to facilitate their coaching strategies.

Individuals must attend the course and pass the test with 80% accuracy.



Beginning Judges Certification (Category 3)
This is the first in a series of courses designed to educate and certify judges for the disciplines of Trampoline, Synchronized Trampoline, Tumbling and Double-Mini Trampoline gymnastics. Upon successful completion of this course, judges will be certified as “Cat 3” and are permitted to judge execution for levels 1-10 and horizontal displacement at all levels. Each course consists of a lecture session, practical judging practice session, an open book written test and an onsite practical exam.

Requirements to participate in the Category 3 Judges Course:
  1. Online registration and payment
  2. Current Junior Olympic Code of Points
  3. Paper and writing utensils
Participants should have a general knowledge of T&T and a commitment to learn and participate as a judge in the T&T community.


Intermediate Judges Certification (Category 2)
This the second in the series of courses designed to educate and certify judges for the disciplines of Trampoline, Synchronized Trampoline, Tumbling and Double-Mini Trampoline gymnastics. Upon successful completion of this course judges will be certified as “Cat 2” and are permitted to judge levels 1-10. This course consists of a lecture session, practical application of the rules and practice session, an open book exam, practical exam for execution, difficulty and Chair of Panel deductions.

Requirements to participate in the Category 2 Judges Course:
  1. Have previous Category 3 rating
  2. Online registration and payment
  3. Current Junior Olympic Code of Points
  4. Paper and writing utensils
Participants should have an advanced knowledge of the Junior Olympic, Code of Points, the Rules and Policies and their application. Judges should have the ability to recognize and write independently the difficulty for the skills encountered at Levels 8-10 in each discipline in which they will be testing.


Advanced Judging Certification (Category 1)
This is the last in a series of courses for National certification. The course is designed to train judges to judge at the highest level of competitive Trampoline and Tumbling. This course includes a lecture session covering the FIG Code of Points and the U.S. Elite T&T Special Requirements (Elite Code of Points). Course includes education and practice sessions for execution, difficulty and Chair of the Judges Panel deductions. Course examination includes: written (closed book) test, practical exam for execution, Chair of the Judges panel deductions, and pass difficulty. The difficulty section of the practical exam is a timed test. Upon successful completion of this course, judges will be certified as “Cat 1” and are permitted to judge the elite levels (Youth Elite – Senior Elite) in the discipline tested.

Participants must have an advanced knowledge of the FIG Code of Points, U.S. Elite T&T Special Requirements (Elite Code of Points), and Rules & Policies. Participants are also required to independently recognize and shorthand write difficulty for skills that are appropriate for the Elite Levels.

Fees
  • $45 for USA Gymnastics Members for each discipline.
    Professional, Jr. Professional, Athlete (age 15 or older) and Non Member
  • There is an additional $5 fee for registering onsite.
*Non-Members cannot register online for this course and must download registration form
*Please note to judge at a sanctioned event one must be a current member with valid NCSI background check.
Policies
  • Pre-registration can be done online up to 48 hours prior to the LIVE course date. Pre-registration by mail or fax, must be received two weeks prior to the course.
  • Once registered, an individual may not transfer registration fees to another exam date or request a refund unless they do so in writing to USA Gymnastics at least 8 days prior to the scheduled exam. Extreme extenuating circumstances will be taken into consideration on an individual basis.
  • Registration is the property of the registrant and cannot be transferred to another individual.
  • There is an additional $5 fee for registering onsite.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to testing time with a T&T code of points, paper and pen/pencil.
