Chairman - Paul Parilla
Paul Parilla was named chairman of the USA Gymnastics Board of Directors in December 2015. Prior to his election, Parilla had served as the organization’s vice chairman since 2009 and as chair of the Nominating and Governance Committee since 2005. Parilla has served as an officer or member of the Board of Directors since 1999.

Parilla is in the process of retiring from his private law practice, specializing in real estate and business litigation, in Orange County, Calif. after 43 years and from serving as pro tempore Superior Court Judge and Orange County Bar Association arbitrator. He retired as a colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve after serving for 30 years as a staff judge advocate, military judge and as a trustee of the Marine Corps November 10th Association.

Prior to becoming Board chairman, Parilla served USA Gymnastics as a member of its Executive Committee (1999-2006); vice chair of the Trampoline and Tumbling Program (1999-2007); past chairman of the Governance Task Force, the Governance Transition Committee, and the Acrobatic Gymnastics Merger Task Force; and past president of USA Trampoline & Tumbling prior to its merger with USA Gymnastics.

Parilla graduated with a Bachelor of Art in both business administration and economics from Carthage College and with a juris doctorate from Marquette University Law School. He resides in Lake Forest, Calif., with his wife, Janet. They have two grown children, Stephen and Jennifer. Jennifer Parilla is a two-time trampoline Olympian. Parilla enjoys skiing, flying, guitar and traveling.
