Indianapolis, Ind. – Many of America’s elite gymnasts, including two-time defending National Champion Kristen Maloney (Pen Argyl, Pa.) and Senior Pacific Alliance All-Around Gold Medalist Elise Ray (Columbia, Md.), will take the floor at the U.S. Classic, July 8 in the Mabee Center Arena in Tulsa, Okla. 1996 Olympic Gold Medalists, Amy Chow (San Jose, Calif.) and Dominique Dawes (Silver Springs, Md.) have also entered the competition.

The U.S. Classic serves as a qualification event and a preview for the upcoming John Hancock U.S. Gymnastics Championships, July 26-29 in St. Louis. The John Hancock U.S. Gymnastics Championships is the first of two qualification events for the 2000 U.S. Olympic Team. The final selection will occur at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials, August 17-20 in Boston.
Other confirmed entries include 1999 World Championship Team Members Jeanette Antolin (Paradise, Calif.), Vanessa Atler (Canyon County, Calif.), and Jamie Dantzscher (Palmdale, Calif.). Also scheduled to compete are National Team Members Erinn Dooley (Gaithersburg, Md.), Marie Fjordholm (Miami, Fla.), Robin Phelps (Rockville, Md.), and Lindsay Wing (Washington D.C.). A final list of competition participants will be available June 24.
