HUNTSVILLE, Texas, May 14, 2016 – Lexi Ramler of St. Michael, Minn./KidSport, and Lauren Navarro of La Verne, Calif./Charter Oak Gliders, tied for the senior title, while Morgan Hurd of Middletown, Del./First State Gymnastics, took the junior title at the 2016 American Classic. The competition was held at the USA Gymnastics National Team Training Center at the Karolyi Ranch, an official U.S. Olympic Training Site.

In the senior competition, Ramler and Navarro posted matching 55.950 scores to take the top spot. Abby Paulson of Coons Rapids, Minn./Twin City Twisters, finished third, scoring 55.900. The following athletes scored better than 54.000 to earn a berth to the 2016 P&G Gymnastics Championships, St. Louis, June 23-26: Christina Desiderio of Hackettstown, N.J./Parkettes National Gymnastics Center; Kaitlin DeGuzman of Rowlett, Texas/Metroplex Gymnastics; Maggie Musselman of Crownsville, Md./Hill’s Gymnastics; and Olivia Trautman of Champlin, Minn./Twin City Twisters.

Hurd took the junior title with a 57.050. Jaymes Marshall of Greeley, Colo./TIGAR, and Irina Alexeeva of Plano, Texas/WOGA, rounded out the top three, posting scores of 56.300 and 56.100, respectively. Sixteen additional juniors reached the 52.500 qualifying score for the P&G Championships. Konnor McClain of Cross Lanes, W.Va./Revolution Gymnastics, and Emma Boyd of Windermere, Fla./Orlando Metro Gymnastics, took the top two spots in the Hopes 10-11 division. McClain posted a 55.000, while Boyd scored 52.100. Zoe Miller of Spring, Texas/AIM Athletics Texans Gymnastics, and Katelyn Rosen of Boerne, Texas/Aerial Athletics, tied for third with 51.500. In the 12-13 division, Ciena Alipio of San Jose, Calif./West Valley Gymnastics School, was the champion at 54.400. Genevieve Sabado-Baez of Pomona, Calif./Gliders Charter Oak Gymnastics, was second with a 53.900, and Anya Pilgrim of Germantown, Md./Hill’s Gymnastics, took third, posting a 53.450.
