Results

The first half of all-around competition in the 2009 Rhythmic National Qualifier, which is being held July 18-19 at the Plainfield Recreation and Aquatic Center in Plainfield, Ind., wrapped with familiar faces leading after the rope and hoop apparatus. The final all-around results will determine the rhythmic qualifiers for the 2009 Visa Championships, taking place Aug. 12-15 in Dallas, Texas.

Leading the Junior level – A group are Shelby Kisiel of Missouri City, Texas/North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center with an all-around total of 44.00. Jessica Bogdanov of Brooklyn, N.Y./Isadora with 43.88, and Olga Pavlenko of Flushing, N.Y./Isadora with 43.83. In the Junior level – B group, the top three all-around competitors are Rebecca Sereda of Staten Island, N.Y./Isadora with 46.7, Jazzy Kerber of Highland Park, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center with 46.575, and Meghan Lalor of Vista, Calif./Magdalena Ecke YMCA with 42.175.

The senior competition is led by Julie Zetlin of Bethesda, Md./Rhythmflex with an all-around combined score of 46.8. Michelle Milstein of Eagan, Minn./International Gymnastics of Minnesota is in second with 44.6, and JoAnna Arnold of Evanston, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center sits in third with an all-around score of 44.4.

The top 25 juniors and 20 seniors at ranking order will earn a berth to the 2009 Visa Championships. Those gymnasts who do not compete in the 2009 Rhythmic National Qualifier may petition for inclusion following the rules and policies of the rhythmic gymnastics program if they have recorded one equal to or greater than qualifying score during the 2009 season and meet one of three requirement: injured at the time of competition, recently competed in an international competition, or currently a member of the U.S. Rhythmic National Team.
