More than 60 schools and 700 gymnasts are expected to compete in the 2010 National Association of Intercollegiate Gymnastics Clubs (NAIGC) National Championships at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, April 8-10. The NAIGC National Championships features collegiate club gymnastics teams.

The top eight women’s teams, the winner of each session along with the next two highest-scoring teams from all sessions advance to the finals. The top 23 all-around gymnasts and event gymnasts, three from each session plus the next five highest-scoring athletes from all sessions will advance to event finals.

In the men’s competition, six teams advance to the finals, the top two teams from each session and the next two highest-scoring teams from all sessions. The top 15 gymnasts, five all-around gymnasts from each session, plus the next five highest-scoring athletes from all sessions, will advance to individual event finals.

Schools expected to compete in the women’s competition are: American University, Boise State University, Boston University, Bryant University, Clemson University, Cornell University, Eastern Michigan University, Emory University, Florida State University, Georgia Institute of Technology, Indiana University, James Madison University, Kent State University, Liberty University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Miami University, North Carolina State University, Northern Illinois University, Ohio State University, Ohio University, Pennsylvania State University, Purdue University, Southern Illinois University, SUNY Cortland, St. Mary’s University, Syracuse University, Texas A&M University, Texas State University, Texas Tech University, Tulane University, University at Buffalo, University of California-Berkeley, University of California-Davis, University of Connecticut, University of Florida, University of Illinois, University of Iowa, University of Maryland, University of Michigan, University of New England, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, University of North Carolina-Wilmington, University of Notre Dame, University of Pennsylvania, University of Pittsburgh, University of Rhode Island, University of Tennessee, University of Texas, University of Vermont, University of Virginia, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Virginia Tech, and Xavier University.

Competing for the men’s titles are: Austin Community College, Boise State University, Boston University, Clemson University, Colby College, Cornell University, Eastern Michigan University, Emory University, Georgia Institute of Technology, Hardin-Simmons University, Indiana University, James Madison University, Kent State University, Liberty University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, North Carolina State University, Northern Illinois University, Ohio State University, Ohio University, Pennsylvania State University, Purdue University, Southern Illinois University, Syracuse University, Texas A&M University, Texas State University, Texas Tech University, Tulane University, University at Buffalo, University of California-Berkeley, University of California-Davis, University of Florida, University of Illinois, University of Iowa, University of New England, University of Notre Dame, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, University of Texas, University of Pennsylvania, University of Tennessee, University of Vermont, University of Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Xavier University.

Qualifying competition is Thursday, April 8, and Friday, April 9, with three sessions each day beginning at 9:50 a.m. The women will compete in all six qualifying sessions, with the men participating in the third and sixth sessions. Team, all-around and individual event finals are Saturday, April 10, at 11:50 a.m. Admission is free for the NAIGC National Championships.
