STUTTGART, Germany, March 17, 2018 – 2016 U.S. Olympic alternate Akash Modi of Morganville, N.J./Stanford University, claimed the all-around silver medal today at the Stuttgart (Germany) World Cup. The event is the second stop in the International Gymnastics Federation’s all-around World Cup series.

Tomorrow, reigning U.S. all-around silver medalist Jordan Chiles of Vancouver, Wash./Naydenov Gymnastics, will compete for Team USA. Fans in the United States can watch the action live online at OlympicChannel.com at 7:30 a.m. ET. The men’s competition will air on NBC Sports Network at 4:30 p.m. ET today, while the women’s competition will be shown at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.

Modi recorded scores of 13.600, floor exercise; 14.166, pommel horse; 13.666, still rings; 14.166, vault; 14.800, parallel bars; and 13.700, horizontal bar, giving him an 84.098 total in the all-around. Russia’s David Belyavskiy claimed the gold with an 85.732 total, while Japan’s Yusuke Tanaka was the bronze medalist, scoring 83.998.
