GWANGIU, South Korea, July 4, 2015 – Akash Modi of Morganville, N.J./Stanford University, and Donothan Bailey of Lake Forest, Calif./University of California – Berkeley, have qualified for event finals of the World University Games in Gwangiu, South Korea, during the first half of the all-around and individual event qualifications, which wrap up on July 5. After three events, Modi is fourth in the all-around rankings with 42.800 and Bailey was 17th at 41.300. ESPN3 is carrying live coverage of the finals.

Modi was sixth for the floor exercise (14.700) and fifth on pommel horse (14.450), qualifying him for the event finals. Bailey will also compete in the pommel horse after finishing sixth (14.350) in the prelims.

On July 5, the prelims for vault, parallel bars and horizontal bar are scheduled. The all-around finals are set for July 6, with event finals on July 7. The top eight for each apparatus in the prelims advance to the finals, and the top 18 in the all-around rankings qualify for the all-around finals.
