MARBELLA, Spain, March 24, 2022 – U.S. Olympian Lili Mizuno (Northbrook, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center) will hit the international rhythmic gymnastics scene this weekend at the 2022 Grand Prix Marbella. The two-day event, which will feature gymnasts from 14 countries, will get underway Saturday with the all-around competition at the Palacio de los Deportes Elena Benitez. The top performers on each apparatus will advance to Sunday’s event finals.

Mizuno competed as part of the 11th-place U.S. rhythmic group at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games before transitioning to individual competition for the 2021 World Championships just two months later in Kitakyushu, Japan. Earlier this month, she claimed the 2022 Rhythmic Challenge all-around title and posted the competition’s high scores on hoop and clubs as the elite rhythmic gymnastics season kicked off in Des Moines, Iowa.
