INDIANAPOLIS (September 24, 2026) – Bringing together thousands of young gymnasts from USA Gymnastics’ largest participatory program, the inaugural National Xcelebration will take place in Minneapolis, Minnesota from June 10-13, 2027, USAG announced Thursday.
The 2027 National Xcelebration will provide a national stage for USAG’s Women’s Xcel program, which features an alternate competitive pathway for girls in the sport. Prioritizing sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork and fun, National Xcelebration will include athletes in three divisions – Platinum, Diamond, and Sapphire.
“Xcel is the platform where the majority of girls experience the sport through USA Gymnastics, and it has been a priority to provide a national celebration of this robust program,” USA Gymnastics CEO Kyle Albrecht said. “We are thrilled to host the inaugural National Xcelebration in Minneapolis and provide a first-class experience to athletes who are the backbone of the sport.”
Minneapolis will host USAG’s National Xcelebration just three years after welcoming one of the sport’s biggest events in 2024, Gymnastics City USA, which included the Olympic Team Trials – Gymnastics, USA Gymnastics Championships and National Congress. For National Xcelebration, the Minneapolis Convention Center will host young gymnasts in what will be the first national competition for the Women’s Xcel Program.
“Minneapolis is proud to welcome the first-ever National Xcelebration and the thousands of young athletes who will make this event special,” said Melvin Tennant, President and CEO of Meet Minneapolis. “We saw the energy and excitement gymnastics can bring to our city with Gymnastics City USA in 2024, and we look forward to creating another memorable experience for athletes, families and fans while showcasing all that Minneapolis has to offer.”
Kicking off with an Opening Ceremony on Thursday, June 10 and continuing through the 13th, the 2027 National Xcelebration includes three days of competition for athletes who qualify through regional events.
