COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Morgan Hurd of Middletown, Del./First State Gymnastics, and Sam Mikulak of Newport Beach, Calif./U.S. Olympic Training Center, are finalists for the Team USA Awards presented by Dow, Best of April, which recognize the outstanding achievements of Team USA athletes from last month. Fans are invited to vote for their favorite athletes and teams at TeamUSA.org/Awards through midnight Monday, May 6.
Hurd and Mikulak won the all-around titles at the World Cup in Tokyo, Japan, April 7. Hurd, the 2017 World champion, won the title with her 55.099 earning top scores on uneven bars and floor exercise. Mikulak won the World Cup all-around with a 86.599, besting hometown favorites Wataru Tanigawa and Kenzo Shirai of Japan. Mikulak had the top scores on pommel horse and high bar.
