DALLAS, Texas, April 17, 2009 – 2008 Olympic team silver-medalist Chellsie Memmel of West Allis, Wis., visited eight gymnastics clubs, as well as met with the Texas Woman’s University’s gymnastics team, during a two-day stop in the Dallas area to promote the 2009 Visa Championships, scheduled for Aug. 12-15 at the American Airlines Center.
While at the gym clubs, Memmel interacted with the gymnasts, signed autographs and posed for photos. The clubs she visited were: Achievers Gymnastics, Aerials Gymnastics, Eagles Wings Gymnastics, Elite Champion, EveryBody Fits, Kurt Thomas Gymnastics, Trevino’s Gymnastics and Zenith Gymnastics.
Memmel was a member of the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team that won the team silver medal. She has six career world medals, three gold and three silver, including the 2005 world all-around title.
The 2009 Visa Championships, USA Gymnastics’ national championships, features all five of USA Gymnastics’ competitive disciplines – men’s and women’s gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, trampoline and tumbling, and acrobatic gymnastics. For more information on the event or to buy tickets, click here.
