COTTBUS, Germany, February 26, 2022 – Brody Malone (Belfast, Tenn./Stanford University) will be returning with hardware from the 2022 FIG Apparatus World Cup in Cottbus, Germany. The reigning U.S. all-around champion earned bronze on pommel horse Saturday and is set to compete in the parallel bars and horizontal bar finals Sunday.

Malone’s 14.133 on pommel horse was bested only by Filip Ude of Croatia (14.366) and World all-around bronze medalist Illia Kovtun of Ukraine (14.166). He was also sixth in the still rings final, earning a 13.200. Turkey’s Ibrahim Colak claimed gold on rings with a 14.733. Armenia’s Vahagn Davtyan (14.600) and Great Britain’s Courtney Tulloch (14.500) rounded out the top three.

Malone advanced to Sunday’s final in the top spot on horizontal bar and posted the second-highest parallel bars score of the qualification round. The final day of competition is set to kick off tomorrow at 8 a.m. ET.
