COTTBUS, Germany, February 23, 2022 – Tokyo Olympian Brody Malone (Belfast, Tenn./Stanford University) will make his first international appearance of 2022 this week at the FIG Apparatus World Cup in Cottbus, Germany. The 2021 World horizontal bar bronze medalist and reigning NCAA all-around champion will look to gather additional experience on the international stage as he eyes a second Olympic berth in Paris in 2024.

Malone will compete on pommel horse, still rings, parallel bars and horizontal bar this week in Cottbus. Competition at Lausitz Arena will begin Thursday, February 24 at 10:30 a.m. ET with men’s floor exercise, pommel horse and still rings qualifications. Men’s vault, parallel bars and horizontal bar finals will follow on Friday, February 25. Finals for the first three apparatus are set for Saturday, February 26 at 8 a.m. ET with the remaining apparatus finals slated for Sunday, February 27 at 8 a.m. ET.

The 2022 FIG Apparatus World Cup Series will continue next month with stops in Doha, Qatar, March 2-5, Cairo, Egypt, March 17-20 and Baku, Azerbaijan, March 31-April 4. U.S. participants for these events will be announced following the upcoming 2022 Winter Cup Presented by OZONE and TURN.
