COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Dec. 2, 2016 – Elijah, a Make-the-Wish recipient from Akron, Ohio, had his wish come true when he trained with the U.S. Men’s National Gymnastics Team, including the 2016 Olympic Team, during the national team training camp at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Elijah, who is 9 and battling medulloblastoma (a cancerous brain tumor), uses gymnastics as a motivator to stay positive during his treatment.  He participated in the morning training session and returned in the afternoon for a little more time with the team.

During his workout, Elijah took part in the national team warm-up; spent time in team presentation training; and received help on tumbling, still rings, parallel bars and horizontal bar, as well as on the trampoline. Elijah worked hard and received an Olympic flag and a competition top signed by the national team.

USA Gymnastics and the U.S. Olympic Training Center were pleased to work with Make-A-Wish Ohio Kentucky & Indiana to grant Elijah’s wish.
