ODENSE, Denmark, Oct. 7, 2011 – Men’s tumbling World Cup leader Kalon Ludvigson of Pocatello, Idaho/Team Revolution, and the women’s synchronized duo of Savannah Vinsant of Lafayette, La./T&T Express, and Nani Vercruyssen of Honolulu, Hawaii/Hawaii Academy, qualified to the finals competition at the 2011 Odense World Cup on Friday (Oct. 7).

Ludvigson, who set a new world record for degree of difficulty in today’s qualification round, advanced to the finals in third position, recording a 72.400, behind China’s Yang Song (75.700) and Zhang Lou (74.400).

Vercruyssen and Vinsant recorded a score of 82.700 to advance to the finals in sixth place. Ukraine’s Maryna Kyiko and Natalia Moskvina lead the women’s synchronized trampoline competition, having posted a score of 86.100.

Team USA’s Michael Devine of Winnebago, Ill/J&J Tumbling and Trampoline, and Neil Gulati of Irvine, Calif./World Elite Gymnastics, bounced together but missed the final. Their score, a 40.900, earned the duo 16th place.

Competition continues tomorrow with qualification rounds for men’s and women’s individual trampoline, as well as the finals for tumbling, synchronized trampoline and individual trampoline.
