SALZGITTER, Germany, Sept. 11, 2009 – Kalon Ludvigson of Pocatello, Idaoho, advanced to the tumbling finals at the 2009 Trampoline and Tumbling World Cup at the Amselstieg Sports Hall in Salzgitter, Germany. The finals are Saturday, Sept. 12 at 3 p.m.

In senior men’s tumbling preliminaries, Team Revolution’s Ludvigson sits in third place with a score of 72.60 behind two Russians — World and World Games champion Andrei Krylov (74.00) and Mikhail Kostyanov (72.90). Ludvigson won his fourth consecutive U.S. national title at the 2009 Visa Championships in August and medaled at the last two World Cup events.

The World Cup in Salzgitter is the fifth and final event in this year’s World Cup series. Krylov led tumbling’s rankings for the World Cup Series and appears to have clinched the top spot in the rankings for this year’s series when he qualified for the finals. Ludvigson currently has 80 points in the World Cup Rankings but cannot catch Krylov.
