BUDAPEST, Hungary, March 11, 2014 – Serena Lu of Staten Island, N.Y./Isadora, claimed the bronze medal in clubs at the 2014 KFK Gracia Cup, held Feb. 22-23 in Budapest, Hungary. Lu finished ninth in the all-around, while the United States’ Gabrielle Lowenstein of Huntington Beach, Calif./Eurogymnastics, finished 14th.

In the all-around, Lu posted scores of 15.700, ball; 15.550, clubs, 15.000, hoop; and 13.900, ribbon, giving her an all-around total of 60.150. She advanced to three finals: ball, clubs and hoop. She posted a 15.700 to win the bronze in the clubs final behind World all-around finalists Marina Durunda of Azerbaijan and Bealrus’ Katsiaryna Halkina. Her other event finals scores were: 14.900, hoop; and 15.200, ball.

Lowenstein earned an all-around total of 56.900. She advanced to the ribbon individual final where she narrowly missed a medal, finishing fourth with a 14.900.
