ST. CHARLES, Mo., April 9, 2016 – Lindenwood University held off the University of Bridgeport to win its second consecutive team title at the 2016 USA Gymnastics Women’s Collegiate National Championships at Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo.

Lindenwood posted a 195.875 to edge past Bridgeport’s 195.800. Seattle Pacific University was third with 194.875. Brown University took fourth with a 194.500. Lindenwood’s team event scores were: vault, 49.175; uneven bars, 48.675; balance beam, 48.875; and floor exercise, 49.150.

The other schools that competed for the team title were Cornell University, Texas Woman’s University, U.S. Air Force Academy and Yale University. Schools with athletes competing for an event or all-around title only are: Centenary College, Southern Connecticut State University, University of Pennsylvania and West Chester University.

The USA Gymnastics Collegiate Championships is for Division I, II and III schools with less than seven-and-a-half full scholarships.
