INDIANAPOLIS, Aug. 2, 2013 – 2012 Olympic bronze-medalist Danell Leyva of Miami/Team Hilton HHonors (Universal Gymnastics), eight-time U.S. tumbling champion Kalon Ludvigson of Pocatello, Idaho/Team Revolution, and 2012 Olympic team gold-medalist Kyla Ross of Aliso Viejo, Calif./Gym-Max, have been nominated for the U.S. Olympic Committee’s June Male and Female Athletes of the Month, respectively. Leyva posted the highest senior all-around score at the 2013 Men’s National Qualifier at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. He also had the top scores for both the parallel bars and high bar. Leyva is expected to compete at the 2013 P&G Gymnastics Championships, scheduled for Aug. 15-18 in Hartford, Conn.
 
Ludvigson clinched his eighth straight U.S. tumbling title at the 2013 U.S. Trampoline and Tumbling Championships at Kansas City’s (Mo.) Municipal Auditorium. Ludvigson, who now holds more than half of the U.S. tumbling titles since the discipline joined USA Gymnastics in 1999, easily won his eighth crown with his 80.300. Ludvigson also set the American record for highest total score en route to the title.
 
Ross won the senior all-around title at the 2013 Secret U.S. Classic at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, Ill. Ross earned 58.650 score in the all-around to claim the title. Ross, a member of The Fierce FiveTM that captured the team gold medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, like Leyva, is expected to compete at the P&G Championships.
