STANFORD, Calif., April 20, 2008 – Steven Legendre of Flower Mound, Texas, a freshman at the University of Oklahoma, won the floor exercise and vault titles at the 2008 Men’s NCAA Championships, held at Stanford University in Stanford, Calif.

Legendre scored a 16.100 to place first on floor exercise, followed by Ohio State University’s Jimmy Wickham and Pennsylvania State University’s Casey Sandy in a tie for second. On vault, Legendre’s 16.400 edged Stanford University’s David Sender of Arlington Heights, Ill., who posted a 16.350. Wickam finished third.

Jonathan Horton of Houston, a senior at the University of Oklahoma, claimed his second-career NCAA still rings title with a score of 16.125. Sender was second with a 15.775, and Penn State’s Tommy Ramos was third at 15.725.

The University of California – Berkeley’s Tim McNeill earned titles on pommel horse and parallel bars with scores of 15.625 and 15.650, respectively. Sandy was second and Sho Nakamori of Albany, Calif., a redshirt junior at Stanford, was third on pommel horse. On parallel bars, Sandy finished second and Penn State’s Wes Haagensen placed third.

Paul Ruggeri of the University of Illinois won horizontal bar with a score of 15.000, with the University of Minnesota’s Cole Storer and Stanford’s Josh Dixon in second and third, respectively.

Horton, Legendre, Nakamori and Sender are members of the U.S. Men’s National Team.
