OSIJEK, Croatia (June 13, 2022) – Ian Lasic-Ellis (Dover, Mass./Stanford University) added two top-10 World Challenge Cup apparatus finishes to his growing international resume last week in Croatia. The 19-year-old was 10th on parallel bars and seventh on still rings in his second appearance on the world stage in 2022. He previously finished fourth on horizontal bar and eighth on floor exercise at the Cairo World Cup in March.

After qualifying in the seventh spot with a 13.600, Lasic-Ellis posted a 13.933 in the rings final Sunday at Gradski Vrt Hall to claim his highest placement of the competition. Turkey’s Adem Asil paced the field with a 14.900. Lasic-Ellis’ 13.900 on parallel bars during Thursday’s qualifications landed him 10th. Turkey’s Ferhat Arican captured gold with a 14.800.

Lasic-Ellis also competed on horizontal bar (13.050), pommel horse (12.600) and floor exercise (13.000), finishing 12th, 15th and 19th, respectively. A trio of Croatians topped the standings on each apparatus. Olympic silver medalist Tin Srbic took top honors on high bar with a 14.300. Robert Seligman (13.866) led the way on pommel horse, and Aurel Benovic (14.733) secured the floor title. Lasic-Ellis did not participate in the vault competition.
