INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., Dec. 14, 2007—Mattie Larson of Los Angeles was chosen as the U.S. Olympic Committee’s Female Athlete of the Month for November for her accomplishments at the Junior Pan American Championships in Guatemala City, Guatemala.

 

Larson claimed four medals, including three gold, at the Junior Pan American Championships. She helped the U.S. women win the team title, easily outdistancing runner-up Canada by nearly 10 points. She then led a sweep of the all-around medals in first place, and added two individual event medals, a gold on floor exercise and a silver on uneven bars. Larson helped the U.S. delegation win a total of 19 medals at the competition.
