DOHA, Qatar, March 22, 2018 – Marvin Kimble of Milwaukee/Salto Gymnastics and Alec Yoder of Indianapolis/Ohio State University, advanced to the finals today at the Doha (Qatar) World Cup. Kimble and Yoder both advanced to the horizontal bar final, while Kimble also qualified to the parallel bars final. The event is part of the International Gymnastics Federation’s individual event World Cup series.

  • March 23, 9 a.m. ET – Event Finals (Day 1)
    • Kimble, still rings
    • Yoder, pommel horse
  • March 24, 9 a.m. ET – Event Finals (Day 2)
    • Kimble, parallel bars, high bar
    • Yoder, high bar

The Olympic Channel will also carry same-day delayed coverage of the event on March 23 and March 24 at 5 p.m. ET.

In the parallel bars competition, Kimble qualified in eighth position with a 14.133. Yoder, who earned a 13.966, is the third reserve for the final. World parallel bars champion Zou Jingyuan of China leads the standings by more than 1.000 with a 16.266.

Kimble was the sixth qualifier on the high bar with a 13.633. Yoder finished eighth today to advance to the final with a 13.533. China’s Xiao Ruoteng leads with a 14.833.

Tomorrow, Kimble and Yoder are scheduled to compete in the still rings and pommel horse finals, respectively.
