DOHA, Qatar, March 21, 2018 – Marvin Kimble of Milwaukee/Salto Gymnastics and Alec Yoder of Indianapolis/Ohio State University, advanced to the still rings and pommel horse finals, respectively, today at the Doha (Qatar) World Cup. Tomorrow, Kimble and Yoder are both scheduled to compete in the parallel bars and horizontal bar qualification rounds. The event is part of the International Gymnastics Federation’s individual event World Cup series.

- March 23, 9 a.m. ET – Event Finals (Day 1, floor, pommel horse, still rings)
- March 24, 9 a.m. ET – Event Finals (Day 2, vault, parallel bars, horizontal bar)
The Olympic Channel will also carry same-day delayed coverage of the event finals on March 23 and March 24 at 5 p.m. ET.
In the pommel horse competition, Yoder tied for the fourth-best score with Turkey’s Ferhat Arican at 14.400. Taipei’s Lee Chih Kai scored a 15.200 to lead the standings.
Kimble finished tied for seventh position in still rings qualifications, scoring a 14.466 to match Japan’s Yuya Kamoto, who also advanced to the final. Russia’s Dmitri Lankin received the same score but through tie-breaking procedures missed the final as the first reserve. Ukraine’s Igor Radivilov posted the highest score on the event: a 15.066.
Tomorrow, Kimble and Yoder are both scheduled to compete in the parallel bars and horizontal bar qualification rounds.
