RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil (August 20, 2025) – Rin Keys (Porter Ranch, Calif./Burlo Gymnastics) advanced to the hoop and ball finals Wednesday and currently sits fifth in all-around qualifying to kick off the 2025 Rhythmic World Championships in Brazil.

In a field of nearly 100 athletes, Keys was top eight in both hoop and ball qualifications to move onto each final. She was fourth on hoop with a 28.900 and seventh on ball with a 28.100 to advance. In all-around qualifying, Keys ranks fifth with a combined 57.000 following the first day of competition. The top 18 athletes all-around will advance to the final after including results from Thursday’s clubs and ribbon qualifications.

Fellow American Megan Chu (San Diego, Calif./Pacific Stars Rhythmic Academy) also was active Wednesday, placing 20th (27.600) on hoop and 35th (25.550) on ball in qualifying. Chu sits 24th in the all-around with a 53.150.

The championships continue Thursday August 21 with clubs and ribbon qualifying at 8 a.m. ET. Results are available on the FIG event website and all action will stream live on eurovisionsport.com.
