RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil (August 22, 2025) – Rin Keys (Porter Ranch, Calif./Burlo Gymnastics) and Megan Chu (San Diego, Calif./Pacific Stars Rhythmic Academy) put on a terrific showing Friday, finishing seventh and 12th in the individual all-around competition at the 2025 Rhythmic World Championships.

Keys placed seventh overall on Friday, the best all-around Worlds finish for a U.S. athlete since Laura Zeng placed sixth at the 2017 World Championships. Her score of 112.650 landed her just five points away from the podium, where Darja Varfolomeev of Germany (121.900), Stiliana Nikolova of Bulgaria (119.300) and Sofia Raffaeli of Italy (117.950) rounded out the top three.

Chu finished just outside the top 10 all-around, placing 12th in the world with an overall 109.950. She improved on her qualifying standing by four positions after advancing to the final in 16th on Thursday.

Individual competition will pause as the group of Goda Balsys (Northbrook, Ill.), Anabella Hantov (Northfield, Ill.), Greta Pavilonyte (Buffalo Grove, Ill.), Alaini Spata (Glen Ellyn, Ill.), Kalina Trayanov (Deerfield, Ill.) and Natalia Ye-Granda (San Diego, Calif.) take on the group all-around Saturday at 1 p.m. ET. Competition will stream live on eurovisionsport.com and scoring is available on the FIG event website.
