INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., March 23, 2010 – Jazzy Kerber of Highland Park, Ill., took second in the junior all-around at the Opal Cup in Calais, France. Kerber’s four-medal performance – she also finished second in hoop and ball, third in rope, and fourth in clubs – highlighted a busy weekend of international competition in rhythmic gymnastics.

Kerber earned a total of 90.800 points for the silver medal. Her apparatus scores were: rope, 23.300; hoop, 22.200; 22.775, ball; and 22.525, clubs. JoAnna Arnold of Northville, Mich., who trains with Kerber at North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, also competed in the Opal Cup and finished fifth in the senior all-around competition. Arnold’s scores were: 21.75, rope; 22.725, hoop; 22.400, ball; and 20.450, ribbon. Russia’s Anna Trubnikova won the junior all-around title, with Russia’s Ekaterina Donich taking top honors in the senior competition.

Rebecca Sereda of Staten Island, N.Y., and Julie Zetlin of Bethesda, Md., competed at the Rhythmic Gymnastics Deriugina Cup Grand Prix in Kiev, Ukraine. Sereda, who trains at Isadora, finished ninth in the all-around junior competition, and Zetlin, who trains at Rhythmflex, was 14th in the senior all-around in the Deriugina Cup. Daria Dmitrieva of Russia won the senior all-around title.

At the 2010 Baltic Hoop in Riga, Latvia, Anastasia Torba of Orinda, Calif./Allegro Rhythmic, finished seventh in the all-around and ball and eighth on rope and ribbon.
