Indianapolis, Aug 13, 2005–Olga Karmansky of Brooklyn, N.Y./Nova, won gold medals in rope, ball and ribbon, just two days after winning the all-around rhythmic gymnastics gold medal at the 2005 Visa Championships in Indianapolis. Lisa Wang of Buffalo Grove, Ill./Rhythmic Gems, won clubs and tied Karmansky for the ball event title. In the junior division, Julie Zetlin of Bethseda, Md./Rhythmflex, the all-around silver medalist, won four of four individual event titles.

The top six athletes on each event from Thursday’s preliminary competition qualified to today’s event final.
“I was a little tired from the first day when I gave it all that I had. Now, I’m looking forward to the World Training Camp in California,” Karmansky said.
Brenann Stacker of Lincolnshire, Ill./Illinois Rhythmics, placed third in rope, clubs and ribbon, and Aline Bakchadjian of Woodland Hills, Calif./Hollywood Academy, took third in ball. Wang earned silver medals in rope and ribbon and Karmansky took silver in clubs.
Zetlin hardly expected to sweep the individual event finals. During the preliminaries, she placed second in rope and hoop and third in clubs and ribbon behind Rachel Marmer of Los Angeles, Calif./Hollywood Academy, who had the highest score on all four events.
“I didn’t even think about winning each event,” Zetlin said. “I was less nervous and wasn’t afraid to do more. It was more fun than nerve-racking. I just tried to have a lot of fun and get the audience and the judges into my routines.”
Marmer took second in all four events while Marlee Shape of Buffalo Grove, Ill./Illinois Rhythmic, took third in rope and ribbon, Tracy Agyeman of Queen’s N.Y./Isadora’s, earned bronze in clubs and Kristian Brooks of Coronna, Mich./Sports Club of Novi, earned bronze in hoop.
