VITORIA, Brazil, Nov. 12, 2005 – Olga Karmansky of Brooklyn, N.Y., won the all-around title at the 2005 Pan American Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Vitoria, Brazil. The U.S. Team won the team gold medal at the three-day competition, which is the qualifying event for the 2007 Pan American Games, July 13-29, in Rio de Janeiro. Finals for individual apparatus are on Nov. 13.

In addition to Karmansky, the gold medal-winning U.S. Team includes Aline Bakchajian of Woodland Hills, Calif.; Brenann Stacker of Lincolnshire, Ill.; and Lisa Wang of Buffalo Grove, Ill.
In the team competition, host country Brazil came in second, followed by Mexico. In the all-around, Mexico’s Cynthia Valdez and Brazil’s Ana Paula Ribeiro finished second and third, respectively.
In the individual apparatus finals, Karmansky qualified for both the ball and rope, while Bakchajian also advanced to the finals for the ball event. Names of those advancing to the finals for ribbon and clubs were not available at this time.
