NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana (August 9, 2025) – Maksim Kan (Muskego, Wis./Salto Gymnastics Center) clinched the 17-year-old all-around title and Jakson Kurecki (Nokomis, Fla./EVO Gymnastics) took the 16-year-old crown Saturday in junior men’s competition at the 2025 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships. The Junior National Team Presented by Xfinity also was named at the conclusion of competition at Smoothie King Center.

Kan Can

Kan added the 17-year-old junior division all-around title to the 16-year-old division championship he won in 2024. Kan topped the podium Saturday with a two-day score of 157.693, also clinching four of six apparatus titles on vault (28.862), pommel horse (28.465), horizontal bar (26.834) and floor exercise (26.387).

Hunter Simpson (Palmetto, Fla./EVO Gymnastics) was the all-around silver medalist with a 151.384 and also won the still rings title with a 24.862, while Jay Watkins (Dandridge, Tenn./GymTek Academy) closed out the all-around podium with a 147.768. Troy Holman (Bakersfield, Calif./Bakersfield Gymnastics Academy) had the highest score of the afternoon on parallel bars, winning gold with a 26.562.

Kurecki wins 16s

In the 16-year-old division, Kurecki was the all-around champion with an overall 155.228 across both competition sessions. He also earned gold on high bar with a 28.372. Hunter Egan (Montgomery, Texas/Cypress Academy of Gymnastics) took all-around silver with a 150.282, also claiming titles on floor (27.876) and parallel bars (25.100). Cooper Gunderson (Delano, Minn./Mini-Hops Gymnastics) won three medals Saturday, claiming all-around bronze with a 149.290 and gold medals on vault (28.762) and rings (24.826). Ethan Guitierrez (South Lyon, Mich./Infinity Gymnastics Academy) secured the pommel horse title with a 25.336.

Men’s competition at the Xfinity Championships concludes Saturday evening with senior men’s action at 5:30 p.m. CT, when national titles and World Championships team berths are up for grabs. The event will broadcast live on CNBC and stream live on Peacock.
