HUNTSVILLE, Texas, July 13, 2017 – The July women’s national team camp concluded today at the USA Gymnastics National Team Training Center. National team coordinator Valeri Liukin led the five-day camp, which is the final camp before the Women’s World Team Selection Camp, scheduled for Sept. 18-22.

The camp began with physical abilities testing, where Lilly Lippeat of Mason, Ohio/Cincinnati Gymnastics; Konner McClain of Cross Lanes, W.V./Revolution Gymnastics; and Anya Pilgrim of Germantown, Md./Hill’s Gymnastics, took the top three spots. Physical abilities testing was followed by verifications on all four apparatus.

The top three in senior verification were:

  1. Ragan Smith, Lewisville, Texas/Texas Dreams
  2. Alyona Shchennikova, Evergreen, Colo./5280 Gymnastics
  3. Jordan Chiles, Vancouver, Wash./Naydenov Gymnastics

The top three in junior verification were:

  1. Maile O’Keefe, Las Vegas/Salcianu Elite
  2. Emma Malabuyo, Flower Mound, Texas/Texas Dreams
  3. Adeline Kenlin, Iowa City, Iowa/Iowa Gym-Nest

As members of the U.S. national team are prepare for this summer’s competitions, including the P&G Gymnastics Championships, scheduled for August 17-20 in Anaheim, Calif., the focus of the camp was to finalize routine construction, improve technical execution of skills and exactness of dance elements.

2016 Olympic team replacement athletes Ragan Smith and Ashton Locklear participated in the camp.
