PARIS, France (July 31, 2024) – Michigan standouts and 2024 Olympic team bronze medalists Paul Juda (Deerfield, Ill.) and Frederick Richard (Stoughton, Mass.) finished top 15 in the men’s all-around competition Wednesday evening to cap their eventful 2024 Olympic experience.
Juda was the face of consistency yet again, hitting solid routines during all six rotations to place 14th with an 82.197. Richard finished just behind him in 15th with an 82.166, posting the fourth-highest horizontal bar score of the night with a 14.400. 20-year-old Shinnosuke Oka of Japan won the all-around title with an 86.832, followed by China’s Boheng Zhang in second (86.599) and Ruoteng Xiao in third (86.364).
All-around competition continues Thursday, August 1 at 6:15 p.m. CEST/12:15 p.m. ET with women’s action at Bercy Arena as 2016 gold medalist Simone Biles (Spring, Texas) and 2020 Olympic champion Suni Lee (St. Paul, Minn.) compete for the United States in a pairing of Olympic champions.
