INDIANAPOLIS, May 21, 2021 – Junior gymnast Katelyn Jong of Allen Texas/Metroplex Gymnastics dominated the competition Friday night in Indianapolis, cruising to a three-point all-around victory and three event titles at the 2021 GK U.S. Classic. Kailin Chio of Henderson, Nev./Gymcats Gymnastics (51.750) edged Gabriella Van Frayen of Lewis Center, Ohio/Gym X-Treme (51.700) to finish in second.

Jong took the top spot on vault, uneven bars and balance beam. Kaliya Lincoln of Frisco, Texas/WOGA Gymnastics led the way on floor exercise.

The GK U.S. Classic continues Saturday with the first of two senior sessions kicking off at 1 p.m. ET on NBC’s Peacock. The second senior session will air live on NBCSN at 7 p.m. ET.

The GK U.S. Classic serves as the final opportunity for female gymnasts to qualify to the 2021 U.S Championships, which will be held June 3-6 in Fort Worth. Izzy Stassi of North Royalton, Ohio/Gym X-Treme took full advantage, becoming the final junior gymnast to advance after posting a 51.350 on the night.
