ARLINGTON, Texas, March 6, 2015 – Kiya Johnson of Desoto, Texas/Texas Dreams, and Maddie Karr of Champlin, Minn./Twin City Twisters, won the junior and senior all-around titles at the 2015 Nastia Liukin Cup at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The 2015 AT&T American Cup, the USA’s most prestigious international invitational and part of the International Gymnastics Federation’s World Cup Series, takes center stage on Saturday, March 7, at AT&T Stadium.

  • Junior medalists: Johnson, 38.275, gold; Shaylah Scott, Allen, Texas/Metroplex, 38.875, silver; Alexa Al-Hameed of Ankeny, Iowa/Triad Gymnastics, 37.600, bronze.
  • Senior medalists: Karr, 38.275, gold; Anna Glenn of Charlotte, N.C./Southeastern Gymnastics, 38.250, silver; Olivia Karas of Chicago/IK Gymnastics, 38.200, bronze.
  • Johnson’s event scores and routines: vault, 9.750; uneven bars, 9.450; balance beam, 9.625; floor exercise, 9.450. Johnson performed a Yurchenko full-on vault. On the uneven bars, she executed an overshoot before dismount with a tucked full-out. She tumbled an Arabian double tuck, two-and-a-half to punch front and a double back.
  • Karr’s event scores: vault, 9.825; uneven bars, 9.475; balance beam, 9.400; floor exercise, 9.575. On the uneven bars, Karr executed a Gienger catch-and-release move and dismounted with a tucked full-out. Karr was solid on the beam, performing a side aerial to back handspring series and a hitch kick to side somi. She dismounted a back one-and-a-half. Karr performed a nearly flawless Yurchenko one-and-a-half on vault.
  • Named for 2008 Olympic all-around gold-medalist Nastia Liukin, the Nastia Liukin Cup was first held in 2010 in Worcester, Mass., and a portion of the proceeds from the Nastia Liukin Cup benefits the Nastia Liukin Fund, a charitable fund in partnership with the National Gymnastics Foundation (www.usagym.org/foundation).
