2008 Olympic balance beam gold-medalist Shawn Johnson and partner Mark Ballas were crowned the champions of the eighth season of "Dancing with the Stars" Tuesday night, May 19. Johnson was the youngest competitor the show ever had and now becomes its youngest champion.
Actor Gilles Marini and his partner, Cheryl Burke, came in second, finishing within one percent of Johnson and Ballas’ combined judges’ scores and fan voting. "The Bachelor" star Melissa Rycroft and her partner, Tony Dovolani, finished in third place.
Johnson and Ballas joined their fellow ABC "Dancing With the Stars" finalists on “Good Morning America” Wednesday, May 20. Johnson and Ballas also appeared on a number of other talk shows throughout the day.
