HUNTSVILLE, Texas, March 22, 2017 – The Jesolo selection camp for the U.S. women’s national team begins today at the USA Gymnastics National Team Training Center at the Karolyi Ranch, an official U.S. Olympic Training Site. 1988 Olympic champion and national team coordinator Valeri Liukin, will lead the camp, which runs through Sunday.

The camp will begin with physical abilities testing, followed by verifications on each apparatus. Athletes who are vying for international assignments at the upcoming Jesolo (Italy) Trophy and London World Cup will verify full routines on competition surfaces. The focus of the camp will on perfecting the quality and consistency of routines. Competition assignments will be announced Saturday evening.

Olympic alternates Ragan Smith of Lewisville, Texas/Texas Dreams, who recently won the AT&T American Cup title, and Ashton Locklear of Hamlet, N.C./Everest Gymnastics, are expected to participate. In addition, Morgan Hurd of Middletown, Del./First State Gymnastics, who recently won the bronze medal in the all-around at the Stuttgart World Cup, is on the roster. The complete roster is below.
