EVERETT, Wash., March 17, 2012 – The team from Japan leads the team competition at the 2012 Kellogg’s Pacific Rim Championships after the first of two subdivisions schedule for Saturday at Comcast Arena in Everett, Wash. Japan scored 344.700, followed by Chinese Taipei with 312.500 and Mexico (309.600).

In the senior competition the highest scores were as follows.

All-around: Koji Uematsu, Japan – 87.200
Floor: Tatsuki Nakashima, Japan – 14.950
Pommel horse: Hsiang Chen, Chinese Taipei – 13.400
Still rings: Takuya Nakase, Japan – 15.150
Vault: Wai Hung Shek, Hong Kong – 16.400
Parallel bars: Jorge Giraldo, Colombia – 14.900
High bar: Uematsu, 15.550

For the juniors, the high scores were:
All-around: Kaito Imabayashi, Japan – 84.900
Floor: Koji Nonomura, Japan – 14.250

Competition for the men’s team and all-around medals continues tonight at 7 p.m. PT with teams for the United States, Australia, Canada, China and Russia.
