MILWAUKEE, Wis., March 7, 2020 – Morgan Hurd of Middleton, Del./First State Gymnastics, the 2018 American Cup winner, and Sam Mikulak of Newport Beach, Calif./USOPTC, the 2014 American Cup champion, won the women’s and men’s titles, respectively, at the 2020 American Cup at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. The American Cup is the USA’s most prestigious international event and part of the International Gymnastics Federation’s all-around World Cup series.

Hurd’s score of 55.832 led the field as she won her second American Cup title. Making her senior international debut, 2019 U.S. junior champion Kayla DiCello of Boyds, Md./Hill’s Gymnastics took second with her 55.132 all-around total. Hitomi Hatakeda of Japan came in third with 53.799

In the men’s competition, Mikulak earned the title for the second time with a score of 85.332. Oleg Verniaiev of Ukraine placed second with 83.064, and James Hall of Great Britain rounded out the top three, earning a score of 82.999. Shane Wiskus of Minneapolis, Minn./University of Minnesota, just missed the podium in fourth, scoring 82.797.
