ESSEN, Germany (July 26, 2025) – Patrick Hoopes (Lehi, Utah/U.S. Air Force Academy) took bronze on pommel horse to conclude artistic gymnastics competition Saturday at the 2025 World University Games in Germany.

The two-time NCAA champion scored a 14.466 on the apparatus Saturday to secure bronze in the pommel horse final behind Armenia’s Hamlet Manukyan in first (14.933) and Daiki Hashimoto of Japan in second (14.533). Fellow American Tate Costa (Narragansett, R.I./University of Illinois) also was in action Saturday, placing seventh on floor exercise with a 13.500. Luke Whitehouse of Great Britain was first with a 14.566.
