HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – The USA Gymnastics for All National Championships recently concluded after four successful days of competition and performances with 447 participants at the Globe Theater at Universal Studios in Hollywood, Calif. Featuring competition in Power TeamGym, GymFest, GfA Challenge, and Team Acro and Tumbling. In 2016, the Gymnastics for All National Championships and GymFest are heading to the Sevierville (Tenn.) Convention Center. The 2015 GfA season concludes at the World Gymnaestrada, which is scheduled for July 10-19 in Helsinki, Finland.

This year’s championships officially began with the Opening Ceremonies at the Special Effects Theatre inside Universal Studios with performances of GymFest routines and the March of Teams.

La Jolla YMCA took home the big prize of the weekend at the Gymnastics For All Challenge by winning Best of Show. Other teams participating were Broderick (Gold), Fliptastic! (Gold), Berks East (Silver), and GymTrix (Silver). The Gymnastics for All Challenge, a performance-based exhibition contest, is evaluated on: entertainment, overall presentation, innovation and variety and technique (quality and skill safety). Evaluators award performance groups gold, silver or bronze status. Multiple teams can achieve each status.

The Level 1 and 2 Power TeamGym teams received achievement awards for their session performances. Fliptastic! Meteorites and the Tricks Folsom Zebra Divas received red ribbons for their performances. Fliptastic Stardust, Stars Shooting Stars, Tricks Folsom Zebra Pizzazz, Fallbrook Friends Like Me, Aurora Kids Alaskan Snowflakes, Berks East Spinners, GymTrix Fusion, and the Fallbrook Heartbreakers earned white ribbons. Tricks Granite Bay Glamour Gold and Tricks Folsom Zebra Elite claimed yellow ribbons.

In the Level 3 Championships, Bay State Energy was first with a 16.98, followed by Northern Elite Flash (16.82), Berks East Flippers (16.47), Tricks Granite Bay Pure Platinum (16.4), Fliptastic! Galaxy (16.36), and Tricks Folsom Aqua Explosion (16.25).

LaJolla Electric took the Level 4 title with a total of 17.30, finishing ahead of Broderick Intensity (16.93), Bay State Pirates (16.78), Fliptastic Equinox (16.63), Berks East Tumblers (16.18), Showcase Emeralds (15.63), and Tricks Folsom Team Titans (15.46). The Open Male Division champion for Level 4 was Fliptastic! Gravity (16.45).

The Level 5 session was won by Broderick Elite (18.6), followed by Columbia Stars (17.84), Fliptastic! Odyssey (17.57), LaJolla Shadows (17.45), Bay State Warriors (17.03), Berks East Twisters (16.89), Showcase Diamonds (16.8), and Gymtrix Genesis (15.61). The Fallbrook Guys and Dolls took top honors in the Open Male Division.

The Level 6 title went to Bay State Epic (18.11) and La Jolla Infinity (17.3) taking second. Fliptastic! Eclipse won Level 7 (26.13), with La Jolla Elements (25.51) second. The Level 8 Championship went to Fliptastic! Supernova (26.31).

Power TeamGym, which consists of team jump routines of tumbling, vaulting, mini-trampoline and team floor exercise, includes Levels 1-8, as well as ADSN (special needs). Power TeamGym is a competitive version of GfA where squads of athletes perform together in two events – group floor exercise and group jump.

Spirit took first place in the Team Acro and Tumbling competition. 3F Fitness was second and Berks East was third. Team Acro and Tumbling is a head-to-head competition with athletes competing in compulsory pyramid, toss, acro, and tumbling, combined with a group team event. It is the developmental program for the varsity team sport and administered by university athletic departments through the National Collegiate Acrobatics and Tumbling Association (NCATA).

GymFest performances were held throughout the weekend. The participating gyms included: Impact Sports, Fallbrook Gymnastics, Berks East, Aurora Kids, Encore, and Broderick.
